Should I keep the black foam on the Galax 3090 PCB?

Dear Bitspower,

I have recently purchased a waterblock from Bitspower for the Galax HoF 3090. 

But the board is slightly different from the instructions.

The board has these two black foam bands that seem to fit snuggly against the waterblock plate, where the instructions recommend putting some thermal pads instead.

I have kept the bands. What are they for, and am I going to be ok?

Thanks for your response.
The original black foam and thermal pad of the card should be removed.
And please use our thermal pads which come with the water block. Please refer to the first picture of the installation guide. You will see the 1mm thermal pad has to be covered on the blue location. Sorry that it is a little wrong on the second picture and we will revise it ASAP.
