Is there or will there be a active backplate for msi 4090??? This is a huge factor in purchasing decisions...

Yes, we are going to release the active backplate for MSI 4090. And the front water block will be revised too.

I'm surprised you need it since that card doesn't have memory chips on the back like 30 series cards.
