Should the monoblock posts be touching the motherboard? or is it okay if they are somewhat separate?

since there is a foam pad between the board and the plate, it's hard to tell how tight i should screw it in.

edit: lily, I understand that, but because there are so many things to compress on the top and bottom, it's hard to know just by feel how tight it should be. I'm wondering if the posts on the CPU side of the monoblock should be close or touching the top of the motherboard.

Hello Z,

According to the installation guide of BP-MBASRX570PGI, you can turn M3X10 mm screw to the end and turn one more round, that's nearly enough tight. But since the force of everyone is different, so it depends on you. On the installation guide, the place on the motherboard which is covered by thermal paste or thermal pad should be touching to the monoblock.
