Received BP-MBMX299MGPC and it have not enough surface for the x299 cpu

Question

I just received the  BP-MBMX299MGPC for my MSI X299M GAMING PRO CARBON AC  and it have not enough surface for the x299 cpu,it seem to have an adaptor on it for a smaller cpu 

or i'm i supposed to delid my 2000$ cpu ?

Hello Francois,

The smaller place on the base of the mono block is special for the die of the CPU. Because the mono block is big, the smaller place can collect the heat directly from the die and transfer the heat faster. It has good performance.
